Education is a means to empower individuals and strengthen communities. We strongly believe in the power of education to improve political representation and provoke change. At Latin Women in Action, we offer a variety of classes that we believe empower our community. All classes are taught by Latin Women in Action staff and appointments can be made by calling or visiting our office.

Classes

Citizenship interview TEST preparation classes

Every Saturday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am
American History and Government, Reading and Writing, and Personal Tutoring
Free and open to the public

Child Daycare Provider Course

Mandated by New York State Office of Children and Family Services
Health and Safety Training: Competencies for Becoming a Family or Group Day Care Provider Curriculum
15 Hours course
Latin Women in Action Fee: $250
Training on Saturdays, 12 pm to 5:30 pm, call for scheduling

ESL (English) Class

$5 per class
Thursday 8 am to 10 am
Thursday 6 pm to 8 pm

private classes

English classes and Citizenship classes are also taught privately and the schedule may be more flexible
We ask that clients call our office for fee and to schedule private classes

Training fulfills requirements in:

Nutrition and health needs of children
Safety & security procedures, including communication between parents and staff
Business record maintenance and management
Child abuse and maltreatment identification and prevention
Statutes and regulations pertaining to child day care, child abuse, and maltreatment
Education and prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome

At Latin Women In Action, we acknowledge that divorces can be extremely stressful and detrimental to all people involved. We empathize and strive to help achieve successful divorces that you need. We work to offer services that our communities need with the resources we can provide.

For all cases involving children and assets, we require a consultation with a consultation fee of $20.
For cases with no children and no assets, please read below:

We offer a divorce special of $250 + any court fees involved. Both people involved must be in agreement with no children and no assets. Both parties must come to sign at the same time, same day. A consultation is necessary to complete the divorce and a copy of the Marriage Certificate must be provided at the consultation.

In summary, for a successful divorce with no children,no assets, we ask for:

$250 divorce special + court fees
Both parties to be in agreement
Consultation fee of $20
Copy of Marriage Certificate
